• I always love sunflowers…
The sunflower is a plant native to America, where the oldest evidence of their culture are found in Mexico dating from 2600 BC. Around 1515 the first sunflowers were brought from the Americas to Europe.
• Sunflowers follow the sun. Throughout the day, the great flower guides its “face” to the sun, worshiping the Sun god. The image of this flower, with large petals symbolize the sun itself, evoking a feeling of warmth .
*For me they represent hope.

Thank you so much, Madalena, I am very flattered and happy with my win. I love your Saving Summer painting. The flower is lovely and your use of colors, in all of your paintings, is amazing!
