Description
Only a woman who knows about life and love can talk with butterflies.
I have chosen butterflies to accompany this woman because of her capacity for renewal and life.
For this painting I was inspired by a photo of Carmen Gloria Salvo Márquez.
I have represented 7 different butterflies, one of which is in danger of extinction.
If we continue to use so many pesticides soon all of them will be extinct.

Beautiful painting and thank you, Madalena, for bringing attention to the plight of our beautiful butterflies. this painting is representing 7 different butterflies, one of which is in danger of extinction. If we continue to use so many pesticides -- soon all of them will be extinct.

Love the soul vibrating energy in this outstanding painting, Madalena! All lives count, for sure, creation is so precious in all aspects, that it brings tears into my eyes!!! Communication from soul to soul on the same frequency. Excellent work!!!

Love this painting, Madalena...the butterfly only knows who she is after being alone and unnoticed in the first part of life, after surviving painful life lessons in her middle life and finally...after an isolated meltdown within the darkness of the shell built around her, ...she re-emerges with diaphanous wings of glorious Colour to KNOW she was Born to FLY...before her movement into Light! This is truly my favorite of your work! L/F

This is such a beautiful portrait, Madalena! Her green eyes are captivating but the butterflies are just as much the stars of this piece. I love the symbolism, and your description is powerful. We need to protect the butterflies, we need to protect our planet...You gave them a voice in your art. L/F
